What Does Drug MDMA Do to Your Brain?

MDMA, commonly called Molly, a party drug is among the most smuggled drugs in the US. With an estimated 2 million smuggled pills each year, the common users of MDMA are students.

MDMA works just like the other common drugs. Ecstasy is MDMA added with other substances. This drug affects the brain, mainly the neurotransmitters that are responsible for reflexes, mood and the message relaying mechanism of the brain and other parts of the body.

Specifically, when taken in large amounts, MDMA triggers massive amounts of dopamine, serotonin and norepinephrine to be released in the body causing elation, sociability and inability to sleep. These are the reasons why MDMA is a great party drug.
