Power Makes a Person Impulsive

The brain is a complex network of neurons that are connected with other organs of our body, so that when acted upon by a stimulus, the brain receives signals on what to do or how to react. The brain itself is a wonder. How the brain affects our emotions and behavior is a much deeper void that only a very few have ventured into.

With many years of study, scientists have discovered different lobes in the brain, each with specific functions. For instance, the empathy lobe is what makes a person aware of another person’s grief. However, if this particular lobe gets damaged, it makes a person impulsive. He starts to yell, curse and become disconnected. This is called acquired sociopathy.

The study was also able to uncover the connection of power with acquired sociopathy.

You won’t believe what a position of power actually does to the brain and to one’s behavior.
